To any type of artist- be it composer, musician or author- it is impossible to create a work and not see the flaws and issues within.

That said, those who aren't involved in the creation of a work don't have such an intimate knowledge of flaws that might drive an author to scrap a story and rewrite.

There is no such thing as perfect. Not for anyone who creates. But for those who enjoy, who listen, who read, and who are taking in experiences they have not touched during its creation- perfect is as simple as making someone smile, to think, to picture something in their mind.

Perfection is relative. Praise is no reason to forsake improvement, but motivation to continue.
